Be part of building Scotland's future

Scottish Enterprise supports businesses across the country, helping them to innovate and scale to transform Scotland’s economy. With businesses and partners, we’ll drive growth and deliver economic transformation. You’ll play a part in this by taking the lead on the delivery of a first-class financial reporting service.

The role

Leading our Finance Systems and Reporting team, you’ll call on your considerable expertise and professional judgement to deliver a financial reporting service that provides key financial data and analysis to support business decision-making across Scottish Enterprise.

You’ll also spearhead our aim to deliver high-value services that unlock Scotland’s vast economic potential.

As well as using a variety of tools and systems (including Infor Q&A, Excel and PowerBI) to create a robust financial reporting structure that spans our organisation, you’ll also design ad hoc reports to meet operational needs.

You’ll also maintain, develop and administrate our corporate finance systems and applications, control user access to systems, and safeguard the integrity of data held in our finance applications.

Naturally, others will look to you for guidance and support on finance systems, so they can plan, monitor and manage the financial aspects of their activities. You’ll also raise awareness of the wide-ranging services provided by the Finance Directorate.

Who we're looking for

Working on your own initiative with confidence, you’ll adopt a flexible, adaptable approach – no matter how demanding your own workload or how strict the deadlines. You’ll also be a problem-solver who loves applying logic to reach solutions.

A skilful blend of initiative and proactivity is essential, as you’ll be leading a small team.

You’ll also need:

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of how transactions are recorded in a finance system
  • Experience of delivering financial information to a variety of audiences
  • A recognised CCAB accountancy qualification (such as CA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • A proven track record in a finance or systems-related role
  • Expert accounting or bookkeeping knowledge that supports your understanding and interpretation of underlying financial transactions
  • Experience of preparing and delivering financial performance information to a high standard of accuracy
  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly around the clear presentation of complex data
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills

Though not essential, any knowledge of Infor SunSystems finance applications and/or finance reporting software such as PowerBI will be warmly welcomed.
